Welcome to the tenth installment of Day 17. This is a monthly blog where people take note of what happens to them on the 17th day of the month, write it down, and send it to us.

The idea was that this collection of disparate experiences would somehow reveal a central code, a map of the human heart laid bare in a sudden, forehead-slapping moment. This idea does not seem to have been particularly well thought-out, nor does the evidence suggest that there is any truth to it , although we have detected certain threads of common experience, which we may be imagining. Or it may be the weather.

This month's submissions were concerned mostly with catching colds, and doing nothing of significance. We have given up all hope of looking for enlightenment in these writings, so perhaps the devil is somewhere in the details.
